1.  Overview

   This document describes five types of SNMP applications:

       -  Applications which initiate SNMP Get, GetNext, GetBulk, and/or
          Set requests, called 'command generators.'

       -  Applications which respond to SNMP Get, GetNext, GetBulk,
          and/or Set requests, called 'command responders.'

       -  Applications which generate notifications, called
          'notification originators.'
