Ada/Ed
<language, education> An
interpreter, editor, and
run-time environment for
Ada, intended as a teaching tool.
Ada/Ed does not have the capacity, performance, or robustness of commercial Ada compilers.
Ada/Ed was developed at
New York University as part of a project in language definition and software prototyping.
AdaEd runs on
Unix,
MS-DOS, Atari ST, and
Amiga.
It handles nearly all of
Ada 83 and was last validated with version 1.7 of the ACVC tests.
Being an interpreter, it does not implement most representation clauses and thus does not support systems programming close to the machine level.
Latest version: 1.11.0a+, as of 1994-08-18.
A later version is known as
GW-Ada.
