Abstract This memo defines a new Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) option for selecting the subnet on which to allocate an address. Introduction The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) [RFC 2131] provides a framework for passing configuration information to hosts on a TCP/IP network. RFC 2132 [RFC 2132] specifies DHCP option configuration information that may be carried in DHCP packets to/from the DHCP server and the DHCP client. This document specifies a new DHCP option.
