<body, standard> The European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization.
A body developing electrotechnical standards for the Single European Market / European Economic Area in order to reduce internal frontiers and trade barriers for electrotechnical products, systems and services.
CENELEC's 19 member countries and 11 affiliate countries aim to adopt and implement the required standards, which are mostly identical to the
International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards.
CENELEC works in co-operation with Comité Européen de Normalisation (CEN) and
European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI).
